Indigo Dye! A New Twist on an Old Method

Learn to use Indigo dye to create your very own wearable art!  Indigo Dye is one of the oldest types of dye, used all over the world.  In this workshop we will use a new product--- synthetic indigo, to achieve the same look as naturally sourced indigo.   Each participant will go home with two silk scarves and several samples.  The indigo process is unique!   All materials and supplies will be provided.  Participants are asked to bring rubber kitchen gloves (or disposable gloves), an iron, and a blow dryer if they have these items.   You may also bring two additional pieces of a natural (non-animal) fiber from home to dye (cotton/silk/linen).

Location: SMU, CAPE Learning
